Planning on making a sandwich this weekend? If you do, you should include tomatoes, and not just because they're good for you or it's the peak of the season. Here's a quick protip for upping the flavor quotient on any cold cut sandwich: Split open a roll, spread a spoonful or two of vinaigrette* over each side, arrange a layer of tomato slices on the bottom half, close the roll, and press the sandwich to release the tomato juice into the bread. Open the sandwich and add your sandwich ingredients of choice. If you're feeling really adventurous, or just want to impress your friends at a picnic, try Laurent Gras's Pan Bagnat sandwich recipe, which is featured in Laurent Gras: My Provence cookbook.
