A Super Bowl Menu for the Culinarily-Minded

Chris McBride

What time does the Super Bowl start? 6:30 PM, ET. Which means you still have plenty of time to figure out what you'll be cooking!

You're going to be barraged with wing recipes and Domino's promo codes. It's inevitable, and it is, in fact, one very fine way to celebrate your Super Bowl. I won't knock a classic.

However, that's not for everyone. There's a set of us out there that love a good excuse to try a new recipe, to push the bounds of a traditionally-menued event and make it our own. If you're of this school, read on, my friend.

Pushing beyond Frito pie, carrots with bleu cheese dressing, and nachos, here are some more culinarily-minded options to leave on your coffee table while the world stares at Bruno Mars, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, commercials and maybe even some football players. These recipes are easy to serve to a crowd for snacking and meal purposes, and many have the bones of more familiar recipes.

Or just the Pickled Eggs part of the BLT recipe! Chef Rachel Graville says to half these bad boys, sprinkle coarse salt over the top of them, crack open a beer and enjoy as the best bar snack ever.
